How we work

Committing to a construction, joinery or building project can be quite a daunting task. There are many elements, people and budgets involved. We've worked on small jobs that require a minimum of disruption through to large scale commercial projects that have very tight deadlines and involve numerous trades. As such, we have a wealth of experience throughout the build process.

For those who need a little extra help, we can become involved in every stage, from ideas, to finding and commissioning contractors through to working through planning permissions and regulations.

There are of course clients that know exactly what they want and simply need the construction joinery and building skills to get it done.

Whatever the requirements for your project, it all starts with a conversation. We are pretty good at listening and when the time is right, asking the important questions. If you would like to find out more or talk about an idea that you have, just get in touch.
Ideas - what do you want to build?
You have an idea to build something. Maybe it's a new kitchen, maybe a sun room extension. Great. You might have a very clear idea of what you want. Even better!

If you have an idea but aren't quite sure about what the possibilities are, we can help you from design right through to planning and the build itself.
Connect with an architect
Some projects are very straightforward and don't need any architect services.

However, for larger or more complex jobs, it can help to have an architect's input. We can connect you with architects that we trust and work with regularly, or we are happy to work with someone that you appoint.
Submit planning permissions
The planning permission process can be daunting. Fortunately we are very experienced at working with authorities and knowing what will and won't be passed. We know the building regulations like the back of our hand and can take care of this part of the job for you.
Project management
All projects need managed to make sure that they come in on time and budget. Some smaller jobs are straightforwards and require very little input, and many of our clients are happy to do this themselves.

For larger or more complex projects where many contractors are involved we are happy to project manage the build and report progress to our client.
Deliver the work
The hard bit! Our team will get to work efficiently and with care and professionalism at all times.
Finishing and snagging
With the major works complete, we can work with you to review the project and pick up any necessary areas that need attention before completion. These should be relatively minor, however this is an important part of quality control
Completion certificate
The final part of a build is applying for and receiving the 'completion certificate' from the relevant authorities. This proves that the work has been done to standard and complies with building regulations.
Servicing and maintanance contracts
An important part of work that I.D. deliver is ongoing servicing and maintenance contracts, particularly in the commercial sector.

This can be based on an extension of the work that we have delivered, or as a separate contract for an existing property or building.
